As Fall quickly cools to winter, department stores begin to fill with red and green decorations and before we know it we are humming along to all the Christmas classics! Yes the holidays are fast approaching, and the best way to survive the dinners, the gifts and the weather is to be prepared.
The Dinners:
Quick and easy recipes like wraps and rolls will save you time and stress when preparing for a work function or family gathering, and nobody would complain about sausage rolls or a fresh salad wrap. For the big dinners plan in advance and be sure to stock up, you never know when a relative may drop in! Use the extras for leftover sandwiches and enjoy them with the family or take them with you to your next party stop!
The Gifts:
The early bird gets the worm, and this is probably the best advice we can give for those with large wish lists. Take advantage of Black Friday deals, and crossing the border to get a better price in November or early December, this will save you from packed malls and crowded parking lots. And while you’re crossing the border don’t forget to visit your Canadian Duty Free Store as we always have great gift ideas for everyone!
The Weather:
Always keep an emergency kit when travelling long or short distances as snow and black ice can sneak up on you before you know it! Extra hats, mittens and a blanket to keep warm as well as a flash light to signal, and some water to keep hydrated are recommended in the instance that you are waiting for a tow truck for a few hours.
Hopefully these tips will help you survive the holidays in one piece. Let us know if we missed anything by posting on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/dutyfreecanada
