Philly Feastival 2011

Philadelphia’s Top Chefs Come Together

“World-class cities need world-class culture. FEASTIVAL celebrates both our artistic and culinary scenes—two great economic engines that push Philadelphia forward.” –Richard Vague, Philadelphia Live Arts Festival & Philly Fringe Board President

Nothing represents Philadelphia’s dynamic and innovative arts scene better than the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe. Each year during its 16-day Festival, Live Arts brings the most cutting-edge artistic performances from around the globe to Philadelphia, and on its “fringe,” local artists infuse the city with their own wild creativity. Last year, for the first time ever, Philadelphia’s hottest arts festival joined forces with the city’s world-class restaurants for an unforgettable evening that proved to be the party of the year – FEASTIVAL, a benefit for the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe.

While you’re in town you should try and see a Philadelphia Phillies game.  They currently have two of the National League’s top starting pitchers who’ve been cooking up their own heat.  Cliff Lee has gone 5-0 in August, and Roy Halladay is maintaining a 2.47 ERA with 191 strikeouts. They’re at the top of the National League East Division by 7.5 games, and  they will be at home facing the Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals to finish off Feastival Week.

Two more fantastic events to visit after picking up some garnish at the Peace or Rainbow Bridge Duty Free stores.
