A Bountiful Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to you all! Many of you will be traveling this long weekend to enjoy warm company or you may be preparing your homes to welcome family and friends. The Thanksgiving tradition here in Canada officially celebrates our ‘bountiful harvest,’ and there’s no better way to enjoy it than with feasts, family, friends and fun!

While our American counterparts wait until November to celebrate, we get a jump start on the festivities each year on the second Monday of October. Be sure look out for the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest parade which is the biggest Canadian Thanksgiving Day Parade. Or if you’re taking it easy, there’s always some football on; the CFL’s Thanksgiving Day Classic doubleheader happens every year like clockwork.

But what’s fun and friends without the food? Every year most of us gobble on turkey and cranberries without a second thought. For those of us with a bit more of an adventurous spirit, here’s a recipe that keeps the essence of Thanksgiving with a bit of a contemporary twist. Bob appétit! http://bit.ly/SPaHi1
